n. The connection of separate parts of a branching system to form a network, as of leaf veins, blood vessels, or a river and its branches.
Anastomosis can be defined as a process that connects different parts of a system to form a network. Inspired by this phenomenon our studio aims to bridge connections between various forces and disciplines to achieve holistic design solutions.
Anastomosis is a creative studio that comprises of designers and architects who strive to defy the conventional boundaries to explore new ideas through intuitive processes to initiate meaningful dialogs. We pursue design from a trans-disciplinary perspective where different mediums are blended through critical observations and iterative processes in order to address the complexity of layers with imaginative speculations. The essence of our studio is based on emergence of forms from contextual ethos in order to achieve timelessness in the final product.
Located in the city of Jeddah, Anastomosis explores the role of design in defining the upcoming development in the region. In the era of rapid globalization where illusions are fabricated to appeal mostly to the visual sense the authenticity and relevance of design becomes questionable with respect to its context. Does architecture and design blend into a growing mono-culture or does it strive to maintain and celebrate the individuality of the region?
